The expedition has begun. The expedition is on.
And now Expedition Unknown, the fifth season of the expedition series, is officially here, with the premiere episode, “A New Beginning.” It’s a bit of a risk because the series starts off with a bit of a cliffhanger, but if you’re already hooked on the first season and want to see how the series goes from there, well, go for it.
The good news is that we know where the expedition is taking us. They’re taking us to a secret base in a frozen desert. So far we’ve only seen a brief glimpse of it and the base itself, but that is about to change. The bad news is that the reveal of that base is probably going to cause quite a few folks to have a panic attack.
The reveal is going to be pretty big, very similar to what happened with the base in the second season. The base is about a mile from the desert, but the desert itself is not. Thats what makes it so special. The desert contains an enormous amount of ice, and in the absence of oxygen the ice turns into a deadly gas, giving the area a very creepy, spooky atmosphere.
The plot is pretty good, and the core characters (the main characters) are incredibly good. But the main villain is a very complicated little guy, and his death is not the least of his problems. Not only does it make the main character even more terrifying than the main character, but it also makes the main character a very, very bad person. The main character is a bit more advanced, and the main villain is not much better.
There are a few twists that will stick with you, and I do think they add to the suspense. The main villain is also a bit more complex than his “normal” kind. Also, the new characters are very good, and they make up for the main character’s shortcomings.
