Simon Rattle, whose music has been used in countless movies and television shows, died on July 12, 2008. He was 91.

The new album is still considered to have a huge influence on the Stones’ music.
Although Rattle’s music is not as powerful on the Stones as it once was, we now have a great deal more in this regard. The Stones recorded an album for a major label named Pink Floyd called the Stones Live, which was released in 1982. There are a number of Stones songs that cover the Stones, but the Stones live album is the most successful.
The Stones Live album was recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall in London. There’s a good video up on youtube of it. It’s a great example of the Stones’ live performance but it doesn’t really paint a picture of the live experience as such.

This is a one of those rare albums that I would have actually wanted to see a bit more of Simons keyboards, but I just didn’t understand how this could be a matter of interest.
